#VALT2016 Runway Fees:

Professional Designers = $50/Look
(Minimum 10 Looks Required)

Students & 2016 Grads = $40/Look
(Minimum 5 Looks Required)

All students and 2016 graduates selected to show their fashion collections at #VALT2016 pay a discounted rate per outfit ($40/look, rather than the professional rate of $50/look). 

VALT also accepts student Design Collectives with a maximum of 5 designers included, showing a minimum of 3 looks each. (Examples: 2 Designers = Min. 6 Looks, 5 Designers = Min. 15 Looks)

Student rates will apply, as long as one or more of the designers are current students or 2016 graduates. To be able to participate at this rate, students and recent grads MUST provide a scan of their most recent student ID with their application.

#VALT2016 Fashion Student/2016 Graduate Designer Competition:

After all applicants have been selected for participation and notified in May 2016, the #VALT2016 jury will also select the #VALT2016 award winners, based on the following categories:

"Most Promising Student Designer"

A collection created by a current student or 2016 graduate will be exhibited as the collection of the "Most Promising Student Designer" at #VALT2016, with all participation fees waived!  Any school and any program is eligible, and enrollment in a fashion design program is not required.  The selected designer and their school  will receive a profile on VALT.ca, mention from the MC during the event, and be included in VALT media.

"G&S Dye Surface Design Award”

Award sponsor G&S Dye & Accessories will be furnishing a $250 prize worth of product (dyes, printing materials, silk fabrics, etc) to the designer who produces the most interesting surface design on a garment at VALT.  Surface design includes dyeing of fabrics (tie-dyeing, batik resist dyeing, ombre dyeing), printing of fabrics (by silk-screen, block printing, sublimation printing), devore patterning, discharge work (bleach painting, bleach printing, dye discharging).
